We have been continually monitoring weather conditions while staying in contact with the National Weather Service, local meteorologists, and road officials since yesterday afternoon as we try to get a handle on the developing and changing situation. Unless we see any catastrophic changes, the schools of Frankfort CUSD #168 plan to remain in session with our regular dismissal times today, Wednesday, February 2, 2022. This means Denning Elementary releases students between 2:25 and 2:45 p.m., FIS at 2:45, and CJHS and FCHS at 3 p.m.
We know that anytime we make a dismissal time change it greatly affects the schedules of families across the District who are trying to work and arrange child care. When we looked at our options this afternoon, we felt that a slight shift in our schedule would cause more disruption than if we continued with our regular day.
As far as the rest of the week goes, we will have any announcements for tomorrow posted no later than 6 p.m. this evening.
Thanks for your understanding in this issue as we try to get our students the time they need with their teachers while getting them to and from school safely.
Sincerely,
Matt Donkin
Superintendent of Schools
