As previously advertised in a local newspaper and on the District’s website, a Public Hearing to receive public comments and questions regarding the District’s application and plan for a Waiver of the Illinois School Code regarding administrative costs will be held by the Frankfort Community Unit School District #168 Board of Education at 5:50 p.m. on Monday, August 9, 2021, in the Library at Frankfort Intermediate School, located at 800 North Cherry Street in West Frankfort.  As noted in the previous advertisement, the law mandated a change in 2019 in the numbers of meetings and notifications involved in special education-related work, causing the District to increase administrative staff and spending in excess of the 5% annual limit for FY 2020-2021.  The requested waiver of the requirements of 105 ILCS 5/17-1.5 is a one-year request.

Following that Hearing at that location and no earlier than 6 p.m., there will be a Special Meeting of the Board of Education in order to consider the waiver application, personnel, construction change orders, student handbook approval, and the back to school plan.

A link to the agenda for this meeting can be found at the district’s website at www.wfschools.org, under the “Menu” tab.
