The high school had an individual trespass on school property. The individual was detained outside the high school office. Police were notified and responded. The individual was escorted off the property. No students were involved.

FCHS Girls Basketball Team will face Benton in the regional championship game at Herrin on Thursday (2/19) at 6:30.

February 13th 2026 at Max Morris Gymnasium will be Jim Johnson Night. The HS boys take on Benton. JV game starts at 6pm. If you have heard your name announced by Jim in his 48 years of basketball or 47 years of football, please try to come out and help us recognize his lifetime dedication to the West Frankfort Redbirds!!
The FCHS RAKtivist (Activists for Random Acts of Kindness) class has been working hard this semester by participating in several activities throughout FCHS and other schools in the district. They spent a day at CJHS helping prepare the 8th graders for their upcoming high school experience. They also met their first group of 3rd grade pen pals from Mrs. Russell's class. They have big plans for the rest of the school year!
